Doug Augis

Director of Ticket Sales

Entering his second year with the Gladiators, Doug has over seven years of Minor League Baseball experience as well as 2 years in the NBA. He has worked for the Durham Bulls, Bowie Baysox and Atlanta Hawks to name a few. Hailing originally from Westfield, New Jersey, Doug attended Elon College in North Carolina. Doug, his wife Megan, and their daughter Kylie reside in Lawrenceville.

Denise Barros

Account Executive

An illustrious career as an international high fashion model for the esteemed Ford Modeling Agency in New York City, couture fashion buyer in Paris, Rome and Milan, fashion commentator and fashion magazine columnist make Denise a unique and valuable assett to the Gladiators Sales Team. Denise's experince is in Sales, Marketing and entertainment.

Numerous Fashion designers have entrusted the success of their lines to Denise, as she represented them nationwide. She has also served as a sales representative for cosmetic companies, including Estee Lauder and most recently for PYA-Monarch, a food service company. She has a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. Denise is a people person with outstanding interpersonal skills. She is a consummate professional who demonstrates a track record of providing quality service in a highly competitive environment.

Dustin Bixby

Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations

Dustin is in his third season as the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Gladiators. He has seen and called the action for every Gladiators game since the organiztion relocated to Gwinnett from Mobile. For the second season in a row, Dustin will be calling the Gladiators action on WDUN, News Talk 550 and online at wdun.com. Prior to joining the Gladiators, Dustin held the same position with the now defunct Baton Rouge Kingfish (now the Victoria Salmon Kings) during the 2002-03 season. He got his start in hockey during the organizations' final season in Mobile during the 2001-02 season as the Mysticks director of Broadcasting and Media relations. A native of Crofton, Maryland, and now currenlty living in Duluth, Dustin graduated from the Universtiy of Delaware with a degree in Mass Communication in January of 2001.

Karen English

Office Coordinator/Bookkeeper

Karen joins the Gladiators as Office Coordinator/Bookkeeper for 2005-06, but is no stranger to the ECHL. She served as Director of Finance for the Augusta Lynx over four seasons from 2001-04, part of a 20 year career in administration and finance that saw her working most recently with WAGT-TV in Augusta as Traffic Assistant. Karen now resides in Auburn with her husband David and daughter Briana, and has traded in her Augusta blue for Gwinnett red!

Joe Gelderman

Director of Game Operations

Joe is entering his 3rd season with the Gladiators, and his 5th in minor league sports. Joe began his career in sports as the director of ticketing and promotions for the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings of the independant Central Baseball League. From there Joe moved on to gain valuable experience in Knoxville Tennessee while working for the Tennessee Smokies of the AA Southern League.

Joe Graduated from the esteemed University of Georgia with a degree in Sports Studies with an emphasis in business. He is a die hard Bulldog and Chicago Cubs fan. Joe currently resides in Gainesville with his wife Carol Ann and his step-daughter LeeAnn. He also loves Totino's pizzas.

Jim Hall

Director of Community Relations

A lifetime fan of Hockey who first laced on the skates at the age of 6 or 7, Hall brings a love for the Game as well as a passion for our Community. Throughout the Season, he can be found Reading or Tutoring at local Schools, making Team Appearances, and helping to keep our wacky friend Maximus out of trouble. As a Community Volunteer, he has served on the Duluth Fall Festival Committee for 14 years (Co-Chairing in 2000 and 2003). He is an active member of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and a Graduate of the "Leadership Gwinnett" Class of 2005. He is also very involved in the City of Duluth, where he just began his 2nd Term on the City Council. A graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta where he helped organize the first GSU Ice Hockey Team and a 18 year resident of Gwinnett County, he resides in Duluth with his wife Julie and their two sons, Charlie and Evan.

Patrick  Houlihan

Equipment Manager

Patrick “Hoops” Houlihan returns to the Gladiators organization having worked for the Mobile Mysticks during the 2000-01 season. Last year, Patrick worked for the Greensboro Generals before joining the Gladiators. Patrick has previously worked for the Albany River Rats of the AHL, the Beast of New Haven of the AHL, the Trenton Titans in addition to the Mysticks and the Generals.

Christina  Johnson

Director of Merchandise

Christina begins her third season with the Gladiators after a whirlwind summer of traveling and ordering tons of new stock. A graduate of Georgia State University, she majored in Broadcast Journalism and minored in Sociology. Having begun her career in sports as a Media Relations intern during the team's inaugural year, Christina enters the '05-'06 season geared up for her first full season as Director of Merchandise. In an effort to justify her major, however, she hops over to the Media Relations department now and then to help out as much as possible.

A rare native of Atlanta, she possesses a rabid love of the Dallas Stars, but still holds a spot in her hockey-loving heart for the local boys. Embracing the shocking combo of having grown up in the south and a crazy passion for the frozen sport, Christina got her start going to Atlanta Knights games at the old Omni and Jacksonville Lizard King games in Florida. Currently residing in Lawrenceville, she spends her "free time" singing along to her rapidly expanding collection of music (the byproduct of a newfound love of country music), shopping for housewares, and watching out for the windshield wiper bandit.

Bob McCaffrey

Account Executive

Bob McCaffrey enters his second season with the Gladiators as ticket account executive after spending several years working for Turner Arena Operations in merchandise sales.

McCaffrey is responsible for selling ticket packages on a season, mini or group basis. Additionally, he is a proponent of extending the utmost, professional customer service with a goal of ensuring the best gameday experience for fans.

McCaffrey is no stranger to local hockey. From 1992 to 1995, he worked for the Atlanta Knights of the IHL in merchandise sales. He has also coached youth hockey in the Ice Forum Hockey Association and is a USA Hockey referee for the Georgia Ice Hockey Official's Association.

McCaffrey was born June 2, 1964 in Hartford, Connecticut. After graduating in 1982, he served in the United States Air Force as a Security Specialist until 1989. McCaffrey is single and resides in Lawrenceville.

Mike Miller

Director of Corporate Sales

Mike is beginning his third season with the Gladiators and 10th year in professional hockey. As Director of Corporate Sales, Mike is responsible for developing and maintaining corporate partnerships, creating and managing corporate inventory, and overseeing production of sales/marketing materials.

Mike completed his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Monmouth University (NJ) and went on to receive his Masters in Sports Administration from Georgia State University right here in Atlanta.

Mike is originally from Tampa, Florida, is a competitive tennis player in his spare time and resides in Buford with his wife Gina.

Kristi Novak

Group Sales Executive

Kristi begins her first season with the Gladiators, having previously worked in the golf and baseball industries. Originally from Highland, Illinois, Kristi graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Speech Communication. During her four years at SIUE, Kristi was a member of the Women's Golf Team. She is an all-around sports fan that spends most of her free time cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, Rams and Blues! Kristi currently resides in Buford.

Chris Peace

Director of Marketing

Chris begins his 13th season in professional hockey. In addition to serving as public address announcer, Chris is responsible for coordinating the Gladiators game presentation operations and is responsible for production management of team marketing and advertising. He has nearly 20 years experience as a sports marketing consultant and PA Announcer in hockey, baseball, football, basketball, boxing, and motorsports. Chris is also a freelance film/video producer and narrator, and the voice of numerous television and radio commercials. During the development of the Space Shuttle program in the 1980's, Chris worked as a writer/producer for NASA with Rockwell International. He is also a former television news anchor, sportscaster, and disc jockey.

Matt Stegherr

Office Assistant

Matt joins the Gladiators for his first season and will graduate from the University of West Georgia in December with a major in Sports Management.

In his free time, Matt enjoys running, watching movies (his favorite is "Jaws"), hanging out with friends, and rocking out to Coldplay, Led Zepplin, and the Allman Brothers. He has lived in the Metro Atlanta area for 13 years.
