Fan Appreciation Game Tonight @ 7:35
Thursday, April 02, 2009

Hard to believe, but it is here already – the Gladiators final regular season game of the 2008 – 2009 season. The Glads still have a little work to do to sew up the final South Division Playoff spot and a win in their final home game against the Stingrays would go a long way to helping their cause. The Glads have won seven of their last eight at home and there is no doubt that the raucous support of our home crowds have played a huge part in that run.

Besides the hockey, Friday night is our chance to take a little time to celebrate with our fans on the fun and all the good times that we’ve had throughout the season. And the fine folks at Kroger want to thank you as well – for your support of the Gladiators and for your patronage of their business here in the North Metro Atlanta community. If you are one of the first 1,000 adult fans (13 & over) through the doors on Friday night, you will receive a Kroger Gift Card worth anywhere from $ 5 to $ 25. Simply take your Gift Card the next time you shop at Kroger and – when you check out – have them swipe the card. You’ll be shopping with a little free money that day courtesy of the Gladiators and Kroger.

This Friday night is also our annual For the Kids Night as we distribute the funds from our Gladiators for Kids Foundation to many deserving Gwinnett and North Metro Atlanta Area charities. This season, we will be handing out over $30,000 in grants to over 20 different organizations. Couple that with the over $45,000 in charitable contributions that was raised this season through our popular Peggy Slappey Properties FUNraiser program with the Gladiators and we have another great reason to celebrate the season.

As of the playoffs, should the Gladiators hold onto the fourth and final South Division Playoff spot, they will face the Florida Everblades in the first round with home games scheduled for Thursday, April 16th and Friday, April 17th. The Gladiators need the equivalent of one win and one OT loss (or a Mississippi SeaWolves regulation loss and OT loss) in order to nab their 6th consecutive post-season playoff berth. Stay tuned to www.gwinnettgladiators.com for up-to-date information.

It’s the last regular season home game of the season. Come out and join us for a great night to celebrate the fun that we’ve had. Thank you for all your support this past season. We look forward to seeing you again during the playoffs.
