2009 Kelly Cup Playoffs Continue Sunday, May 10, 2009
Striding into the middle of May, the remaining teams in the hunt for the Kelly Cup are becoming fewer and fewer. In the American Conference, South Carolina sent the Brabham Cup Champion Florida Everblades to early tee times last Tuesday night with an overtime victory in Estero. Up north, the Cyclones left Elmira dizzy with their quick sweep of the Jackals in their series. With one game already in the can - a South Carolina victory - the Stingrays and the Cyclones are squaring off for American Conference supremacy and a spot in the finals.
Out west in the National Conference, the Stockton Thunder took a gamble with Vegas and lost, ending their season. With the Alaska Aces having already advanced to the National Conference Finals after eliminating Victoria 4 games to 1, the Wranglers and Aces prepare for Game 2 in their series tonight. Alaska took game one and look to capture one more win at home before heading south to the desert. Obviously, to the winners go the final berth.
